How many toy or model dinosaurs do you have? Include any stored away, at work etc... As a child I had absolutely none! Still none a mere three years ago. Now they're taking over my humble home. My big complaint is that herbivores are hard to get -- it seems like kids want to play with carnivores. Even tougher is finding large sauropods that scale correctly with other dinos -- these get expensive if you can find them at all.

Last time I counted them, I had well over 100!

Awesome! Maybe we could start a toy dino thread and post pictures of our favorites.

My dinos have been counted and the total number is......303! (this number includes Plesiosaurs, Pterosaurs, Pliosaurs and Ichthyosaurs).

My dinos have been counted and the total number is 303!... I’m heartfelt impressed with both the number and variety of your collection. How long have you been working on it?

Where are some good sources for unusual toy or model dinos? All my local sources and Internet sites I know of have only the dozen or so prime suspects (T. rex, "brontosaurus," etc.) -- heavily stacked toward carnivores as if that's all children want to play with.

This is a hideous picture, but it's the one I found downstairs:

I doctored your photo with GIMP to reveal it's a really nice dino. Make sure you feed him well....

Yes, I was kind of appalled that my child didn't want it!

I had over 15 when I was younger, I'm sure. I expect I still have most of them somewhere .

I've got quite a few from the Collecta series. They have a good range of both carnivorous and herbivorous species.

A quick search for "Collecta" reveals that they sure do have a worthy variety of all sorts of dinosaurs. The realism and quality appears good, too. Thanks for the tip!

If you're looking for dinos that are a good size, I suggest the following from the Collecta series: Hylaeosaurus (2009 Deluxe scale 1:40), Nigersaurus (2009 Deluxe scale 1:20), Dacentrurus (2011 Deluxe scale 1:40), Deinocheirus (2012 Deluxe scale 1:40), Carcharodontosaurus (2014 Deluxe scale 1:40), Therizinosaurus (2014 Deluxe scale 1:40), Daxiatitan (2015). I also recommend the Schleich Pentaceratops and the Carnegie collection 2012 Camarasaurus.

I don't think I ever had any from that series. The ones I had weren't as realistic (not that I cared much about realism back then, of course!)
