I can imagine an adult Rex would have had a rather large appetite, but exactly how much did a Rex eat in a single day?

First I examined my three dinosaur books without finding an answer, so then looked online. Research at the link below examines how much a Bengal tiger eats, then extrapolates to the weight of T. rex. Of course this may or may not provide an accurate estimate. One consideration is that as you scale up an animal's size, its surface area goes up proportionally with the square of its length, while volume and mass increase with the cube of length. As a result, surface area -- which determines heat loss and thus energy requirements -- increases slower than does weight. Thus I'd suggest the lower end of the range given. How much and how often did T rex eat

It's hard to say for certain how much a healthy adult Rex would have eaten in one day, but I've heard estimates for anywhere between 200 and 600 kilos. It's also possible they may not have eaten every day, depending on the size of the prey.
